20 years

I was in the basement with the kids today and I decided to spin some vinyl.. I decided to put on Midnight Oil's "Diesel and Dust" and while I was enjoying this fantastic album I realized that it was freakin't 20 years old already. Holy shit! .. I still don't think any of todays music that is out there will hold up as it did. I wonder if there will be any kids nowadays listening to the shit that they listen to 20 years from now..

.. it's a mind fuck

THERE ARE SO MANY REMAKES NOW OF OLD CLASSICS LOOK AT TAINTED LOVE
ORIGINALLY DONE IN THE 60'S REMADE IN THE 80'S AND IN THE 00'S

BUT I AM NOT SURE IF ANYTHING WILL BE AS TIMELESS AS OUR MUSIC

Some of it will be classic. Some of it won't. (I'm looking at you Billy Talent, although, somewhat ironically, your namesake movie character WILL still be a classic)

But I can guarantee there will be people 20 years from now who will be convinced that they listed to the best time period for music in history.

That's just the way it goes.

These morons will also probably listen to Our Lady Peace.

AFI and My Chemical Romance are the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block of the new millenium.

Remember it was me who said that.
