almost.. but not quite

Leanne had a close call the other day.. She went for an appointment and the doctor sent her to the hospital for some monitoring which turned into an overnight stay as well. I guess it was because her blood pressure was too high and it was possible that the baby was in stress. It looked like they were going to induce her, but then they decided not to. In the last week she had gained 10 lbs and her stomach went from a 39 to a 42. I am honestly surprised that she has not exploded yet. Her tummy is at the point of the fullest expansion possible and it looks like it can pop like a balloon if you poked her with a pin.

Oh well day by day it will continue. You never know .. maybe it will be a new years baby? .. I really can't see her making it to the due date of Jan 4th.

Happy New Year everyone if I don't get a chance to give an update by that time.

The best way to punish my son? An Accordion

Yup .. an accordion. A little while back I found a toy accordion that my friend John gave me for Christmas one year (.. or was it my birthday?) and I found it in a box while I was sorting through some of my stuff. I decided to start playing with it and I thought I will play this for Harley! ..yeah! he'll get a kick out of it for sure. So I go and show it to Harley and he's all interested. But then when I pulled it apart and started to make "wonderful music" with it .. he absolutely freak out! Screaming and crying."NOOOOOO!!!"

Ever since then I have been using it as my "whippin' belt". Where as kids in the old days would hear, "Don't make me get the belt!!" and they would shake in fear.
All I have to say to my son is "I'm gonna get the Accordion!!"
"Noo!!!" .. and suddenly. he's an angel.

This I found a humorus read today. I had to post it. Poor Dave.

I read it on E-online

Letterman Restrained by Tormented Fan

by Sarah Hall
Dec 21, 2005, 3:00 PM PT

David Letterman has been temporarily restrained by a woman who believes that he torments her over the airwaves using a secret code.

New Mexico resident Colleen Nestler filed court documents late last week, alleging that Letterman has been using code words, gestures and "eye expressions" for more than 10 years to convey his desire to marry her and train her as his cohost.

As a result of Letterman's alleged methods of torture, Nestler claims she has suffered from "mental cruelty" and "sleep deprivation," and has been forced into bankruptcy.

She was granted a temporary restraining order by Santa Fe District Judge Daniel Sanchez, who signed off on her application and set a Jan. 12 court date to determine whether to make the order permanent.

In her six-page letter to the court, Nestler requested that Letterman stay at least three yards away from her and that he not "think of me, and release me from his mental harassment and hammering."

Letterman's lawyers have claimed Nestler's complaints are "without merit" and have asked Sanchez to quash the order.

"The claims made are obviously absurd and frivolous," Jim Jackoway, Letterman?s attorney in Los Angeles, told the New Mexican. "This constitutes an unfortunate abuse of the judicial process."

Albuquerque attorney Pat Rogers contended that the Santa Fe District Court lacked jurisdiction over Letterman, that Nestler never served Letterman with restraining order papers and that she failed to follow other procedural requirements.

It's unclear from Nestler's complaint when her "relationship" with Letterman began to sour.

In her letter to the court, she claims she began sending Letterman "thoughts of love" after he began hosting The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS in 1993.

"Dave responded to my thoughts of love, and, on his show, in code words & obvious indications through jestures [sic] and eye expressions, he asked me to come east," she wrote.

Letterman upped the ante, she claimed, when he asked her to be his wife shortly before Thanksgiving in 1993.

In a teaser for his show, Letterman jokingly said, "Marry Me, Oprah," which Nestler rapidly deduced was a message intended for her.

"Oprah had become my first of many code names," she wrote. "...[A]s time passed, the code-vocabulary increased & changed, but in the beginning things like 'C' on baseball caps referred to me, and specific messages through songs sung by his guests, were the beginnings of what became an elaborate means of communication between he and myself."

Nestler did not reveal why she waited for so many years to take action against her tormenter. (We're guessing she was motivated by the recent revelation that she's not the only woman Letterman calls Oprah.)

She told the Associated Press Wednesday that she had no comment regarding her pending request for a permanent restraining order, other than "I pray to God I get it."

It's not the first time Letterman has had to deal with a fan gone wrong.

Earlier this year, house painter Kelly Frank, who had been hired to do some touchups at the late night host's Montana ranch, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for his involvement in a plot to kidnap Letterman's infant son.

Letterman was also stalked for years by obsessed fan Margaret Ray, who broke into his home repeatedly, stole his car and was known to introduce herself as "Mrs. David Letterman."

Ray served 10 months in prison and 14 months in a mental institution on Letterman-related charges. In 1998, she committed suicide by kneeling in front of an oncoming train.

My car got broken into

Well strike up another one for the stupid things that happen to me list. I get out to start the car this morning and my steering column was all smashed up and my ignition cover was broken off, pieces on the floor in my car. Luckily with Luminas though they have an theft protective cover on the inside so they can't just start the car with a screwdriver like in the oldmobiles. I will however be putting my club back on the thing as soon as I can recover the key's for the damn thing.

My neighbor's car got broken into as well, she also has a lumina and the same thing happened to her. Unfortunately though, her back window got smashed as well.

The CDs that were in my car were scattered on the seat of the car but none of them were taken. As my wife's sister-in-law said. "Well I guess it's a good thing that Gil listen's to weird music"

just when things weren't dumb enough already.

So I heard on the news that the pubic school board is wanting to close 11 (or so) elementary schools and one high school in Regina. .. and turn the high school into a "super elementary school". The thing that really sucks about this is that it is affecting the schools that I went to when I grew up and the ones I was planning for my children to go to that is 2 block down to my house.

Christ sakes. Well I guess the value of the house that I just purchased is going to plummet. Wonderful.

See what happens I guess. I have to find out more information so I can give my 2 cents.

christmas tape

Was out Christmas shopping today and they had a deal at Sears that if your purchases go over 50 dollars you can get a Christmas CD for 99¢. We were purchasing an item for 49.99 and the lady was going to give the disc to us for that price but then unexpectedly the item we were purchasing was 15 bucks off. So then the lady said that she couldn't give the disc to us for 99 cents. So I said that's ok .. (it only had 10 tracks on it).. it's not worth the full price to me. (which was 7.99) The lady then disagreed with me and said "well actually it's a pretty good tape"
"Well that's interesting", I said ".. since it's a CD) (you don't know how near I came to jumping all over that one.. pft.. tape..).
"well you know what I mean" she continues.
"no . that's ok . don't want it"
"I will give it to you for a dollar still"
"Alright fine"
We took the disc and left.

On the way home we were listening to the disc and this song came on that was just horrible, and it was soooo depressing. I said, "Leanne? Who the hell is this? Check the case!" She checks the case and it was Jann Arden. No wonder both of us thought. Hell.. everything that I hear from that woman makes me want to stab my ears with a fork. She can't even write a happy Christmas tune.
"If I knew she was on it.." I say to my wife. "I wouldn't of even waisted a dollar"
"That's ok Gilly" She clicks to the next track, "The Cocoa Butter guy is on here"
Aaron Neville starts singing. We both laughed hard.

Good times.

Sounds as good as it Smells

Well. It finally happened. I am spinning Vinyl again. YYEEEAAAAAYYYYY!!!

Hema's awesome girlfriend Amber found it in her heart to lend me her turntable since now that Hema and Amber moved in together they didn't have any need for 2 turntables in the house.

It all started a couple of days ago when I received a call from the bus depot to come and pick up a package. It was a package from Hema and Amber addressed to "The Beck Family singers" with a note at the bottom that said "Give Your Nose a Rest". I was wondering what the hell the package was since it had FRAGILE written all over it. I never thought in a million years it was going to be a turntable... but did I laugh after I saw that it was and the nose comment hit me.

In case you didn't know all I have been doing with my records for the past eon was smelling my records. That is until now!!! well .. that is after a depressing last couple of days of having the turntable here and not being able to listen to anything because the needle got damage in shipping. Not to mention the cartrige that was on the turntable had an odd buzz to it. I didn't think it was a correct one, not to mention it bared the name realistic (or is it spelled realisick?)

Anyway, leanne was really sick today so I took the day off work and did a bunch of stuff with harley today. I just got him to pass out for his nap and he is sleeping with his mom right now so I am now at the library typing this since I didnt get a chance to come here earlier.

While I was out and getting my check and paying bills and such, Harley and I went to Harry's Hi-fi and hung out there for a little while. Harry is the man! He directed me to a correct cartrige to use. (I cant think of the name right now but I noticed it was made in Denmark) He also said that it was likely the cartridge that was causing the bad ground and that if by freak chance this one was still buzzy that he would look at the turntable and set it up for me. Well I got it home and switched it. And ***enter sounds of singing angels here*** it works like a charm!! The first album I played was "Sting - Nothing like the sun" . Amber is going to likely hate me for that because she hates The Police and all .. but I have been dying to listen to it for years.

Well my time is now running out and I got to get going .. but now this means that I will have a new color under the listened to when I put them. Anytime I listen to something on vinyl I am going to put it in purple just like the ones you will see below.

Till next time kids!! .. Amber .. thanks again .. you are awesome .. let me know if you want to sell the turntable.

5 years of wedded bliss

Well today is Leanne and I's 5 yr wedding anniversary. And to celebrate I am working the day today!! Well .. I am working the day today, but that is not what we are doing to celebrate. We are actually going to be going to The Keg today for our anniversary. Only because Amy is awesome!

This morning when I was driving to work I did not see a single car on the way there, that was until this truck passed WHHHHHHHOOOOOOOSHHHHH.. my windshield was splattered with mud, turn on the wipers only to smear and I am suddenly blinded. Luckily for me my "spray" has never worked on my windshield so I had to try to pull over. I couldn't really see anything so I unwound my window to stick my head out to get a better view. VVWHHHPPP!!! There goes my hat as I see it flying away in my side mirror. AAARRGHH!!. I pull over to the side, and stop the car. Run back about a block so I can pick up my hat. And then look for something that I can clean my window with. Luckily there was a little bit of snow left within the parking lot where I stopped the car in and whapped that against the window with the wipers running. That seemed to do the trick.

It would be nice to have a vehicle where everything worked normally. I would like to have that just once.

Side note. I just realized that hotrods contain no pork. Strange.

OVER 60 POINTS: Others see you as someone they should "handle with care." You're seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS: Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS: Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust In your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful , a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS: People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions & who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist. Some people think you're boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren't.

..the soup nazi's new friends

It would be great to be a kid and have no fear for anything. Last night, when we were giving out candy for Halloween, there was this kid who was dressed up as a pumpkin (prob about 5 yrs old or so) who knocked. I opened the door and the kid walked right in and started playing with Harland's Toys! It fucked me up so much I didn't have a clue what to do and he mother stood at the door all embarrassed and tryed to call him back. But here we both were, the mother was too shy to come into the house to get her kid.. and I was to shy to smack the kid up the side of the head and tell him to leave my sons toys alone. So I kind of took the phone out of his hand and turned his body over so he would see his mom and clue in that he was to go back with her. That is about what I remember from it. Maria was there .. maybe she could comment and add her view of what happened.

What the hell is it with weird things like that happening to me. It's good to know that I am not the only one though. My neighbor from across the street was telling me an incident that she had the "Flyer Lady" as well. They have been working on their house and have been redoing the siding on it. Since they are doing this they have not had a mailbox by their door. For the last 4 weeks they haven't been getting the flyers but haven't really thought of it.. until last week when they happened to be outside when the "Flyer Lady" came by..
"You don't have a mailbox!", she said
"Yeah, that's alright", my neighbour said you can just hand the flyers to me an.."
"NO FLYERS FOR YOU!!!"

Since then she now has the new name of "The Flyer Nazi"

Happy scary day

The weekend is over and now it is Halloween today. I wasn't really thinking this morning. I got up and came to work, and it was at work when I realized it was Halloween and I didn't dress up .. shit. Well.. let's go over the excitement we had this weekend.. shall we?

Friday Night: Pretty low key evening, not much excitement but a good thing was that Harley went to bed at a fairly decent time which gave us the opportunity to finally watch "Saw". Those of you who have seen it I am sure will agree.. that it is Halloween cinema at it's finest.

Saturday: I talked to Bill earlier in the week and he was goin to get the company truck so he could help me with picking up some lumber from Co-Op. Bill agreed to get the truck because otherwise it was going to be 25 bucks to have them deliver it. Now.. 25 dollars wouldn't be that bad if it was across town.. but it was only up the street a few block from where I live .. so .. I couldn't picture spending that much cash to deliver that. I would rather give the money to someone I know if I am going to be spending that much We purchased 7 - 14' 1"x3" primed mdf board that Leanne and I decided to use as baseboard because it was a hell of a lot cheaper than regular baseboard for the bedrooms. More than half the price. This would give us enough for the 2 kids bedrooms. Unfortunately he was not able to get the truck, but Wendy was nice enough to ask her dad if we could use his truck to move it. No problem. But there was a catch. (isn't there always a catch?). We had to move the marble that was in the back of his truck out and put it in their back yard. Now I thought. Hell no problem.. shouldn't be that bad.. but when I was thinking that.. I was thinking the marble pieces would have been like 15 to 17" long. you know .. like cindercrete sidewalk blocks.. Nooooooooo.. the were these HUGE pieces approx 8ft by 4ft and about and inch n half thick. It took 5 of us to move them. Thankfully their was only three of them. Wendy's bother originally got them from some a building that was being demolished downtown and thought it would be a good idea to use it for a countertop in his kitchen but he was not able to find anybody who would cut it to the appropriate size for him. I guess all the places looked at him like he was crazy. So.. Don (Wendy's dad) being the type a guy to not be able to throw anything away had them in the back of his truck for quite a while and decided to use them as "patio blocks" so he could put his bbq on there and so forth. I was thinking it could be pretty slippery .. but what do I know. Time will tell I guess.

So Don delivered the boards to my house and after that was done he decided to rototil my back yard for me. He was going to it earlier in the year but when it was planned it rained straight for a while and it ended up being to wet, and then we never set up a time again. He brought over this rototiller that used to be his dads probably from about 1952. It was a cool machine actually. The pull starter didn't work on it anymore, so he used a little electric motor and connected to the rototiller with a belt and run, and had the engine start with that, then switch the belt over when he got it running good. Unfortunate though, he ended up having trouble with keeping it running. This bothered him because he just did his own yard about a week ago with no problem. He was persistent though .. and worked for over an hour trying to get it running. He finally gave up .. and mentioned that he was going to bring his other one over the next day if the weather was good, but he didn't show up. I didn't expect him too. He did enough for me at the time.

Later in the evening Leanne, Harley and I, went to see Oma and Aunty. We played a game of dice together. Well not really Harley more or less played "it's raining dice" when it was his turn.

Sunday: Amy came over and we all went hard on Harland's room. We got the base boards in, plus we also did the baseboards in the hallway. Amy still scares me when she uses a saw. She is way more comfortable with that thing then I will ever be. She did however cut herself when the guard rail fell down on her finger. But that was ok. I had band-aids. Except it wasn't the brand "Band-Aid" band-aids .. they were something else. Elastoplast? .. something like that. Amy is so awesom in helping us out with this shit.. if she didnt we wouldn't be anywhere near being done. We all tossed harley around for the day and tried to keep him away .. actually when we started and he was taking his nap he slept write through the saw cutting the board. So I can't say he sleeps like a log .. because the saw couldn't cut through it.

The caulking didn't go a smooth as I originally planned though. I got my caulk all over the place. At least I got the caulk to fill the hole though. Leanne and Amy both tried my caulk as well and Leanne did a better job than I did.

We then moved Harland's stuff into the room and man was he ever excited. He especially likes the Hot Wheels boarder and light switch plate we put in there. First time he saw it he yell "AH!! CAR!! TWO CARRS!!" He slept pretty good for his first night. Though I think he was a little confused in the middle of the night because he came out running and he was in the kitchen crying and looking like he was lost. But when Leanne got him back to bed he zonked out like a stone.

Today, we are going to take harley out to the mall for trick or treating. It is easier that way for him and he gets a little freaked out when it is dark outside at the moment

another weekend is here!

Yea!! Another weekend has begun! .. so far I am not sure what will be on my plate for this weekend .. but I am hoping to get the base boards done in Harland's room. So here's hopin!

Quick funny story. I was talking to one of my clients today and she was telling me about one of her employee's that used to work at a 900 number office. What did she have to do to get the job? She had to talk to the boss on the phone and if she was able to successfully "get him off" then the job is hers.

I had a good 'ol hard chuckle on that one.. let me tell you. Can you imagine that? ..

.. I told her to have her call next time they have a problem.

HAHAHA!

Laminate Flyer's raking leaves

So .. seeing Amy's blog made me realize that I had a couple of things to say for my blog. It has been brought to my attention that 1.3mm makes a SHITLOAD of difference. I picked up 7mm laminate that was on sale for 99¢ a square foot. It was cheap enough that I was able to get enough for all of the bedrooms and get rid of that shitty carpet. The original stuff that I got for the livingroom/kitchen and hallway I got on sale for 1.99 sq ft (reg 2.59) and it was 8.3mm. But the quality of the stuff is 100 times better then the shit that we were trying to put in last weekend. It was cheap, chipped easily and some of the boards were not even straight. We literally had to bend them to make it fit. Now that it is in .. it looks pretty good. But I will NEVER purchase 7mm or even recommend it to anyone else. I guess it may not be just the size of it .. but maybe it was the brand too.. because just the crap the board was made of was cheap and shitty. It would crumble easily when you tried to tap the pieces together and everything.. Hell with that last stuff.. you could literally drive over it with a forklift and it would still look good. Actually that is what the sales guy did when I bought the original stuff last year.

But given how much of a pain in the ass it was to get that last stuff in. I think Amy's not going to help me again. It probably was not worth the Chubby Chicken dinner.

Also. Last Tuesday our crazy flyer woman dropped off the flyers like she usually does. Actually maybe I should explain a little more. I call her the crazy flyer woman because she is "not all there". But I have to hand it too her. She loves her job and she takes pride in what she does. Like clockwork, she will deliver the wed flyers on Tuesday at around 5:30-6pm. Then she will the next day go down with her checklist and make sure that she delivered the flyers correctly. If she thought that you didn't get the flyers yet, she will make sure that you get them. And you don't have a hope in hell convincing her otherwise. A couple of months ago I was playing in the front yard with Harley and she came up to the yard and she asked. "Did you get your flyers? .. don't worry I will get them for you"
.. "no no", I said. ".. that is alright, we got them. They are in the house."
"They are not in your mailbox" she continues, " So I will get them for you right away"
"No you don't have to..I""
".. they are not there .. I will get them to you right away"
"We have them."
".. that is ok. No worries."
"ok"
..and off she goes with her little handbook marking whatever she marks in there and continued on her way. And sure enough. We got another set of flyers that evening.

So anyway, last Tuesday I was talking to my buddy Brass on the phone and Leanne goes "Oh my God. Gil!! Check this out!" .. and there she was, the crazy flyer woman, raking the leaves in our front yard. I was so shocked. I wasn't sure what to do. Do I go out there and say something? I was stunned, just standing there watching this woman rake my leaves with the rake that Leanne left beside the front door steps. I nearly forgot I was talking to Brass on the phone. The only thing I could think of was "I have to take a picture!". Of course I couldn't find the camera. So I grabbed my cell phone and took a couple pictures with that. Unfortunately though the first one that I took which would have been the best didn't save in the camera for some reason. I must have erased it when I went to take a couple of the other pictures.

Well things are going.. as to be expected

Our realtor gave us tickets to go see the new Wallace and Gromit movie at the theatre. Harley enjoys watching the short films all the time. So hopefully he will enjoy this. He seemed to do ok at Madagascar when we tool him there. Hopefully this won't be too different for him.

Nothing overly exciting has happened. It's pretty much the usual. Go to work, go home, do stuff, yada yada. I am hopefully going to be able to attack the bedroom this Sunday and get it done. Amy offered to help so that would be pretty cool.

The weekend help that I was going to be getting from my brother was kinda short lived. Not because he doesn't want to help .. just because he got a new job and he is working the weekends.

Last weekend I helped him move stuff to the apartment. All I can say is that if you have lived in a house for 15 or so years and then you are moving to an apartment, you will notice that there isn't that much in the line of "apartment friendly" furniture. But it was all done. I am hoping to see them a little more settled in tomorrow when I go there. My bother can't seem to remember how he had his stereo configured so he could play his Gamecube. So I will give him a hand.

Leanne and Mom are making a "belated" thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. So that should be good. She made a Chocolate Cheesecake this morning. It was pretty hard to leave it alone. It was cute. While Leanne was making it, Harley set himself up at the kitchen table waiting to be served the "yummies". Let's just say he was pretty upset when he realized that he was not going to be getting it right away.

I gotta get me a turntable someday. I finally grabbed my vinyl from mom's house and brought it to it's new loving home. Even though I am not going to be able to listen to any of it. It makes me comfortable to see it there. And smell it. hmmmmm .. ah .. peaceful.

Hema was right. I was always going to regret selling some of the records I did now almost ten years ago. At least I still have the ones that I have though. I really miss my 45's. I gave them to my x-fiance's uncle. He had a jukebox. and .. well at the time .. I thought I could have possibly inherited it. Well .. I was wrong. But in the full scope of things, sure I may not have the 45's anymore.. but I have my current wife and son (and future child of course) and they are worth a lot more then some crappy old jukebox that I probably would have lost in the divorce that WOULD have happened if I did go through with the marriage at the time.

Happy Thanksgiving fellow Canukians

Well, it was a pretty good weekend. Though it went buy really fast. For most people it would still be a weekend, but not I.. or the other 5 people that are working with me today. Since it is lunchtime, I thought I would state how my weekend went.

Leanne took Harley to the farm for the weekend. Amy agreed to come over to help with attacking the renovations to the hallway of the house. We ripped out the carpeting, foam and the shitty tile underneath. Which took longer than anticipated. But of course isn't that how it always works? Amy and I went to purchase a bit for my laminate trimmer (Since it didn't come with one and the dumb-asses at the store didn't point this out to me when I purchased the bloody thing) and look for some matching T-molding to use in between the doors and from where I left off in the kitchen. The T-molding shit is expensive!! 5 bucks a foot!! And of course they only sell them in 8 foot lengths. So I spent 90 bucks for two skinny pieces of shit. My god!

By the time the floor was prepared enough to start laying the laminate, It was pretty much Amy's time to take off. I called my brother to see if he could give me hand. And thankfully he came to give me a hand. I am happy he did because table saws scare the shit out of me to use. I mean hell.. Saws and power tool shit. that's my wife's department. She is into that shit. Me? . I just want to keep my arms. Because trust me I would have somehow harmed myself. Herman noticed how pathetic I was with a saw so he decided to take over the cutting and I would use the trimmer to do the corner shit. And of course...(this can only happen to me) I end up harming myself.

Brass lent me his table saw. Since his table saw didn't have any legs we just had the saw on the floor in the one bedroom. (that is in the process of being redone) I also used the table for when I was trimming laminate with the trimmer. So there is a piece that was fairly long and we needed a cut within the center to go around the wall. Herman cut it and I had him through in some extra cuts .. that way the trimmer can cut them off quick and I am not using the bit in one long stroke and over heating it. Anyway, he prepares a piece for me. Now usually I would just sit cross legged in front of the table and work on it, but since I needed to get at a better angle so I could see what I was cutting I was doing a deep knee bend. I wasn't very concerned about my stature until I piece came flying off the board that I was trimming and socked me right in the groin. And it was once of those graces too. My brother had a good laugh at my expense of course.

The hallway looks pretty sweet now. I can't wait to get the bedrooms done and the landing later on in the future and say goodbye to that disgusting carpet forever!!

Man getting around those corners were a bitch.. I couldn't have done it by myself. God bless my brother and Amy this thanksgiving for their help. Also to Brass who lent me his table saw, to Mango who lent me his brad nailer (which I didn't use yet because of the time it took to do the other stuff), and to Jackie for lending me his shopvac.

I know have this want to get some bowling pins and a ball and bowl in my hallway. I think I will get Harley one of those play sets so we can bowl down the hallway. I think it would be fun.

Oh incase you people were wondering why I have not added the albums that I listened to, it's because I have no been listening to anything in particular. I just have my computer playing random stuff all of the time and the same with the car. I only list it if I am listening to an album in particular. If not .. then just assume he just has his stuff on shuffle.. Clear as Mud? .. excellent

And oh yeah ..

I would like to say contrats out there to Merv and Andrea for getting a new house and I appologize again for not helping them move on the weekend. I am sorry merv.. but as you know .. I was caught up with the house shit. I promise I will make it up to you somehow.

Speaking of moving, my brother is moving next weekend, he sold he house. I will be helping him and his wife move into an apartment.

ah to dream digitally

I would like to have a digital camera. I am sick of the piling up of pictures and nowhere to put them. At least with a digital camera, I can leave the pile of pictures on a disc and they are not flying everywhere. Then just print the ones I would want to have printed! .. hell it's that simple ... I am sick of paying money to develop pictures where the majority go into a pile and nearly get forgotten about. Or constantly having to look for the negative of one that you do want to print. It sucks. And I am not that much of a hardcore shutterbug to have all of that shit organized. So this christmas, I think I will have a digital camera on my list.

This album looks like it would be a great compilation to own. I must find it.

*sigh* .. no turkey for gilly..

So we have been working on the house when we can. So far we have Harley's new room painted blue. Amy was superawesome and gave us a hand. It is always great to get help when I can because I am really running out of time to get this shit done. I have purchased some more base boards that matched what I have in the livingroom and the kitchen so now I can hopefully have the hallway done with the laminate floor soon. Leanne and Harley are going to go to the farm for Thanksgiving this weekend while I stay behind and get as much done as I can. The thing that sucks though.. is now that the weather is getting colder, I am going to need to have a location somewhere in the house for the table saw. Not looking forward to getting the sawdust all over .. but whatchagonnado eh?

So there is really not going to be a thanksgiving at all for me this year, because not only will I be trying to get as much done in the house while I am by myself, I am also going to be working on the Thanksgiving Day. The way I looked at it is that it will give me another day off in lieu for when the baby comes. As much time as I can build up now the better.

Last night I went to The Tap and met up with Batman and Shrek. Batman happened to be town again for a bit again so it was nice to see him. They both also came over afterwards and we watched The Family Guy movie together. Good times. Speaking of Heroes.. Nightwing came by over last weekend and picked up his freezer. The only thing that sucks though .. is that I accidently left the basket out while I was defrosting it. Ooops.

I will try better to put more postings in here again.. but hey .. once in a while is better then never.

5.5 cu ft of chilly glory

Well .. the time is going by faster than shit on ice cream. It has been fairly eventful the past little while. Leanne and I got some more work done in the house. We are slowly making progress. I am hoping to get Harland's room painted this weekend. We purchased a freezer today so now all we have to do is come up with a way to get it home. Bill might be able to get his company truck to give me a hand. This would be sweet. Since the city has not been picking up garbage for the last month now. The garbage it building up quite a bit in my back yard. Not to mention the old carpet and foam that is sitting out in the back now. Well hopefully that eyesore will be gone.

I haven't really had much of a chance to even say boo on this page just because I have been doing so much database entry stuff it makes my eyes bleed and when I take a break for lunch or whatever I just want to stay way from the computer. So if you are wondering what the hell is the matter with me. Then .. there is your answer.

In my free time lately all I have been watching is either X-files or Kung Fu episodes. I would have to say both of those shows would be in my top 10 favorites TV shows if I had to make a list. Hmm.. that would be pretty difficult, I don't think I would be able to do that.

Letter from Tony.

I recieved a letter from Tony and replied to him. I thought since I have not had a chance to blog in the last little while that I would uses that as my blog entery for today. Yes .. that can be cheating .. but why not?

Hey Gil:

What's up? What's New? What did you do this past weekend?

Cathy's Mother from Vancouver is here until tomorrow; she arrived last
Thursday. We have had a great visit, and she has had an amazing time.

I am doing 10 - 12 hours of homework today. I have no classes on Tuesdays,
but they will be filled with homework. Oh well, it will pay off in the end,
though.

If you find out when Wallace and Grommit is playing at the theatre let us
know. As I said to Bill, it would be cool if we could all go together. We
just need a little advance notice to arrange for a babysitter, which I know
you can relate to.

You have to hear the new C'mon and Trick Woo CDs; I bought them from Dave,
and damn do they rock. The C'mon CD is full on analogue. It is one of the
warmest rock albums I have heard in years. Also, I have a copy of the Moog
documentary DVD coming via Dave. We will have to check it out when it
arrives.

-T

Hey man ...

what happend this last weeked.. hmm .. watched Crash. (the newer one with matt dillon) That was pretty cool. picked up the bass for the first time in the last however many years.. bought some paint from rona. slowing making prgress on moving all of leannes shit downstairs. so we can turn that into harleys room. Slow progress... but .. hey whatchagonnado.

I did hear you spin some of the tracks of tricky and cmon on your show last week.. you played something like 3 or 4 from each? .. yeah .. they sound pretty good. It would be nice to see them at the gaslight.. but I wont be able to go likely so .. I am trying no to think about it too much.

I will look into the wallace and gromit movie when I get a chance. yeah .. I think that would be cool to do it with everyone. .. fun shit and giggles all around.

How did you hear about this moog documentary? .. i like moogs .. I like documentarys.. so .. I probably would like that too!

I got a cool film from the library that I did not catch all of yet called. "Step across the border". It's like a improvisational musical documentary of Fred Firth. I have not watched it all yet. But from what I have seen so far is pretty cool. I also watched that Decasia film that you recommended (at least I think you did) it was pretty cool, but I found the music really painful. Made me feel nausaus like that pink floyd at pompei did .. haha.

well .. I guess I should go . I have all this database entry shit to do .. and it is starting to drive me batty .. but one of those necessary evils that have to get done.

I am going to the dentist tomorrow. .. Ick.

love
gilly

There ya have it. Also .. and an additional note, leanne and I was at Value Village last night and I picked up U2's "The Joshua Tree" on cd for 3 BUCKS!!! whee!!! .. I have not heard that album since my vinyl days. Gotta get me a turntable. .. ah .. not that it would matter for that album anyway. I think Hema bought that copy from me.

Sin City.. slow?

So my brother rented Sin City the other day and lent it to me to watch before returning it. He and his wife couldn't get into it. They said it was slow moving and didn't go anywhere.

Slow moving? Were they watching the same movie? Maybe they had it on freeze frame searching or something. Because it was defintely not slow moving.

It was one of the most action packed and violent movies I have ever seen! And the effects in the movie were simply astounding!!! And it also contained some of the most disturbing shit I have ever seen in a movie.

No wonder why I loved the movie. They hated it!

This last weekend was fairly fun packed.

Last Friday Night - Harley had his first date. We say that because that is what it ended up looking like anyway. We went to the Circus with Kyle, Ang & Eve. Their good friend Tara has connections with the circus people and she invited us to come along. It was a blast. Eve and Harley are good friends through daycare already. It was cute. When we got to the parking lot and let the kids out of the car, Eve and Harley went to each other and gave each other a big hug. Harley then took Eve's hand and they went walking to the circus with us. It was soo cute. I was ready puke I thought it was so cute. hahaha. Then if that wasn't cute enough they were sitting together for part of the circus and sharing popcorn. It was like a little first date. Totally awesome. Only two years old and Kyle is already having to worry about his daughter. hahaha.

Saturday/Sunday. - Since it was a three day weekend, I can't remember which was which, but we did go to a movie over the weekend with Bill and Wendy. Well actually just Bill because Wendy fell ill before we went to the movie. I guess she's sick of us. We saw Brother's Grimm. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit.. ahhh!! yes now I remember. That was Saturday, because we went to the fireworks for the celebration of Saskatchewan's birthday on the Sunday. or wait a min .. was that Saturday? .. hell I don't remember. The fireworks were good, but at this point right now I can't remember if I remembered them either.

Monday - I do remember that we did go to the farm this day through. And with the price of gas.. it was probably 30 bucks justs to go there and back. That is crazy. Jason's birthday .. and more cake for all.

Barbie Cue

So we are having another staff BBQ today. .. mmmm.. I like BBQ. I am disappointed in myself that I have not been able to get my BBQ going at home. Since the backyard is all dirt.. there is really no place that I can put it. Maybe hopefully I can get that backyard done up next year. That would be nice. Well time will tell I guess.

It's a Girl!!

Currently weighing in at about 15 oz.. almost a full pound!! Is our daughter!!

Her legs were closed but from what the ultrasound lady could see and what we could see.. we all came upon the agreement that it was a girl because the legs were not actually crossed. From her experience, she sounded pretty positive, and she mentioned that she would go with the pink paint for the room. She also scanned that area pretty closely

This one was pretty cool too because we had the option to see the baby in "3D" as well .. and that is almost freaky how cool it was. The pictures that you see here don't do it justice from what we actually did see.

Call me weird, but it looks like it is more femine to me anyway. Leanne and I agree that it has higher cheekbones.

I love paint

Another weekend has come and gone very fast. Quick update of activities.

Friday Night - Col and Meg came over for visits and Meg kicked our ass in "Scene It"
Saturday - Went for breakfast with Wendy and Bill to Smitty's. In the afternoon Wendy watched Harley so we can continue work on the house. Leanne and I got the hallway somewhat finished in the painting process of the walls.. Yay!! It feels good to finally get some more work done in the house. We also ripped out all of the shitty looking paneling in the back entrance. Then in the evening we all went to Home Depot to get some more stuff and then decided to go to Kelsey's since we were there. We made it easy for the waiter because we all ordered the same thing. Balsamic Chicken. mmmmmmmmm.
Sunday - Leanne went to work as I slaved over a hot stove all day and roasted chickens for supper. Bill and Wendy also came over for that. We planned it together a week ago as a deal since Wendy agreed to watch Harley as we work on the house... and they were still a hour and a half late!!

Sprechen Sie deutsch?

10. Harley. Bringen neuer Babyraum
11. der Farbe Laminat in Babyraum
12 an.

Root Canal pt.3

A little while ago I received an estimate of how much my root canal with the crowning will cost. I nearly crapped my pants. The total came to 1408.50. (That is not even including the lab fees yet) My dental plan covers 100% of most of it .. but only 50% for the crowning and posting. Which means it will still cost me 400 dollars. HAHAHAHA!! I don't have 400 dollars. The dentist is sure going to be sad when I tell them: "Well thanks for your care and attention.. but I am not going to be getting a crown done. Just fill the hole with cement thank-you. Sorry . .I guess you are now not going to get that 27" TV for your bathroom now."

Last Friday night - Well Leanne and I have now joined the cell phone club as well. We wanted to get one since she is pregnant and all .. and the more we looked into it and the prices of how much it costs and so forth.. we decided to get one each. Now we have the ability of unlimited calling between each other as well, which is a nice thing. It has already come in handy. Comfort is a small price to pay. And of course we were like 2 little school kids that evening. We talked on the cells to each other for 45 mins just so we can wear out batteries out to give it a full charge that evening.

Saturday - Went out for breakfast with Mom, Maria, Bonnie, Bill, Wendy (with Leanne and Harley of course) to the usual place .. a big family outing!! .. Bill and Wendy invited us to go out and see Valiant that evening. It was the 5 of us to go (Bill, Wendy, Maria, Leanne and myself) but at last min Leanne and Maria decided to go see Skeleton Key (not the band) instead. It was the first time in history where Leanne and I went out together to a movie .. and didn't see a movie together. Weird huh? I enjoyed Valiant alot. I recommend it to all. Afterwards, Bill, Wendy and I participated in the "Oral Cup" Table Hockey Tournament. Bill still has not given me that blow-job.

Sunday - Went out to the farm and had quite a good time as usual. The day consisted of taking Harley out on the quad when I first got out there, then we came in and I crashed slept for about a half hour before lunch while Harley played with the boys. Then we had lasagna for lunch, pumpkin pie for dessert .. mmmmmmmm...Afterwards I went out with Dad and Jason to the field as the prepped the machinery for harvest, combined a bit and then went to another farm with them to test how ready the wheat was. (could have been durum. not sure.. not that wise to that shit.) When we came back, Jason and Dad continued combining while Leanne, Lori and I took the boys to the Truax park for ice cream. I of course had pistachio nut. .. Harley wore chocolate peanut butter. When we got back from there, Leanne and Lori went to go pick up a cow that was butchered as I stayed back and took Harley for another quad ride and messed aboot with the cows and horses. I wish they still had chickens. I miss them. Leanne and Lori came back with the meat. We devided it up between the 3 families and had dinner. Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes.. and those yummy marshmallow things for dessert. Leanne and I came home with quite an amount of meat. I was first worried that we weren't going to get it all in the freezer. But we did. Now I got ground beef coming out of my ass!!

Oh yeah!! - I didn't mention that I had a surprise visit last week as well!!! Glenn, my old value village work mate came by for a surprise visit last Thursday night. Hell I haven't seen that bastard for 7+ years!! .. it was a good visit. He is staying in Grenfell and has been there for the past month or so taking care of his dad. Hell if he would have gotten in touch with me just a little earlier, he could have came to BATB and reminisced with all of us! .. Hopefully I can get some of my comrades back together and see him again in the next week or so.

Well that was the last week in a nutshell.

trippin' on KFC

There is something that irresistible about those 11 secret herbs and spices. My question is .. what is the addicting herb or spice that the Colonel puts in that.

Marijuana? .. Cocaine?

It's gotta be something like that.

I'm giving it all she's got .. there just ain't enough juice!!

My computer is screwed. I turn it on and it turns off within 5 sec. I couldn't even get into the BIOS to check anything. So I had Brass look at it .. and of course when I brought it to him to look at .. it worked fine. No problems. .. took it back home and .. flop.. same thing again. AARRGGH. I even disconnected everything from it to see it if was something else and nope.. shuts off. So .. I brought it back again to Brass and also had Rory and Ahmad look at it .. and finally it did the same thing. So it looks like the Power Supply is likely screwed in it. Replaced it with a more powerful and newer one. And .. it now stays on!! yay!!
.. Now I will have to do the real test and see what happens when I take it home!

lil devil

Harley seems to amaze me sometimes. Tonight he was a perfect little boy. He ate with no fuss. I didn't have to tell him no more than once for somethin. He was in good spirits all evening .. and he nearly put himself to bed around 8ish. But throughout the whole evening he just has this sinister gleam in his eye when he smiled. I wonder what he is up to.

That Kicks Axe!!

Bill and Wendy came by last night with an DQ ice cream treat!! Why did they do such a thing you ask? .. well that was because I asked them to. Leanne and I were originally thinking of going out doing that but Leanne was not feeling so shit how so we decided to stay at home. Bill gave me a gift as well. The CD release of Kick Axe's "Rock The World" I was blown away and in total awe. Why did I deserve such a fantastic gift? It is all that I have been listening to for today. It makes me wish I had the other albums on CD. All my stuff is on vinyl. Kind of hard to play records on a CD player I found out. I happened to find that out the hard way.

After work, Leanne, Harley and I went for a picnic at the RCMP sundown Ceremonies with Jackie, Trish and Izak. Harley did really good and had an awesome time. He was in awe when they set of the cannon going "Oooooo ... YAY!!!" and clapping and laughing. He did get a little crabby towards the end though, but it was understandable. He was not home all day since he was a the babysitters and probably had a fairly active day. He just had enough and wanted to go home.

I was listening the Tony and Bill's radio show tonight. They played a song for me. That was pretty cool of them. Unfortunately they didn't find the Kaiser Chiefs album as mind blowing as I did.

Difference of opinion is a beautiful thing though.

Root Canal Pt. 2

Root Canal pt.2

So I went to the dentist and had my root canal done. Boy was I out to lunch thinking that they had the majority of it done. I have now realized that I must of had my head in my ass. Today was the actual "Root" of the visit. And let me tell you .. Not Fun. My Jaw still hurts. I had to keep my mouth open for nearly 2 hours!!! aaarrrghh!! And it was just plain freaky. They were drilling and hand filing my tooth so much I thought that there wasn't going to be any tooth left!! It was just freaky. Then at the end of it they were inserting these little rubber pieces to replace the nerves I believe .. but I am not sure. They showed me the x-ray of it .. and you can see where they were along with the filling. I thought they were going to put a crown on it right away, but no .. I guess they wait for a month to make sure that everything is cool. I guess that makes sense.. You need to test run a product after repairing it .. so how would a tooth be any different!

I went home and just crashed to wake up to constant pain. Hopefully this will go away in a couple of days like they said .. but it is actually sorer then it was originally. No pain, no gain I guess.

.. and I almost forgot!! .. The dentist office woke me up with a phone call asking me that I have not set an appointment for the cleaning yet and wanted to know if I would do it tomorrow morning at 11..
.. umm .. no. Shit .. I am still suffering from this, i didn't need the possible added annoyance of bleeding gums to boot. My next apointment is on Aug 31st. The fun will then continue.

Yey for Cherry

Got a super deal at home depot for some Japanese Cherry Laminate. Now I will be able to get rid of that disgusting carpet! whoopee!!! Jack let me borrow his truck and Tony helped with his immaculate arms. He's a good man. Maria also agreed to watch Harley for the time being as well. Which was nice of her to do.

Speaking of my sister, we went to see the movie "March of the Penguins" at the Southland. Not a bad film, but I was not in the right frame of mind when I watched it. I found it actually quite depressing. Almost morbid. I think I would have enjoyed the movie alot more if I saw it at the IMAX, or at the cheap theatre, or rented it .. or actually never have watched it at all. I will likely watch it again in my future if I am flipping through channels on the TV. It's at least better then watching commercials.

McAloo Tikki

My friend Gord went to India for a business trip. To my surprise he brought me back an official wrapper for the McAloo Tikki Burger. Fried breaded potato & peas patty that is flavored with a special spice mix, fresh tomato slices, onion, and veg. tomato mayonnaise between toasted buns. Mmmmmmm...fried breaded potatoes and peas!!.. whats not to love about that!! ....He said it was pretty crappy. He took like two bites and then threw the rest of it away. He purposely went there for my behalf. God bless him.

Next time .. I will make sure the gets me a Chicken Maharaja Mac.... tee hee heee..

it's a statement..

You know what they say about a man with a big pipe.

It is inspires me to see some peoples hobbies and interests. Hema is one of those people. I have never known anyone to be that serious about tobacco and pipe smoking. Some of his pipes are pretty cool too. I like this one. It's interesting to see which pipe he uses sometimes. I am not sure if he does it knowingly or not, but his pipe sometimes works with the clothes that he is wearing. A Total fashion statement. For example over the beach weekend when he was wearing his overalls (see keg toss pic below), he had this big ass corn cob pipe. Totally Hillbilly.. totally.

men are pigs

I went to CPR classes last Tues & Wed.

It was interesting. I was the only guy there .. so there were a couple of man bash comments. I kind of took advantage of the opportunity and acted like a male chauvinist pig. Good times. Two of the younger girls were truly offended by me. I enjoyed it immensely.

Leanne came by on the second day and the first thing one of the girls said to her was .. "Oh.. so YOU must be the wife that does all the cleaning!" .. It caught Leanne off guard because it's not really something that would normally be said to you first thing. Leanne just shrugged it off and thought that her husband was at it again. She now wished that she could of played it up a bit .. but it was too late.

My wife is awesome and the best woman ever. Realistically I would never take her for granted. She is on a very high pedestal.. and that is where she will stay.

BBQ Party

Keith invited everyone from work to come out to a BBQ at his place. It was a pretty good time. I really enjoyed his pool.. but his "in-ground" trampoline freaked me out a bit. I think some one at work here was taking pics. If I get any of the incriminating pictures .. I will definitely post them.

Leanne and I cut out at the appropriate time though. I was getting pretty boozed up .. and I get too goofy when I am boozed up. I could of had some more of those Alabama Slammers though. That's some good shit.

Creamaholica

We took my dad out for brunch today since it was is birthday. 67th I believe. Afterwards we went to his girlfriends for one of those DQ ice cream cakes. I don't know how many times it has happened now .. but man.. I gotta stop feeding ice cream to Harley. If you have ever seen the Ice Cream Bar scene in the Spongebob Squarepants movie .. it's totally appropriate.

.. and to make it even worse .. we gave him a DQ buster bar later in the evening when we went to Tony and Cathy's for dinner. HAHAHAHA. I swear to god .. when Harley finally did crash, you'd thought be passed out. I kinda wanted to put him beside the toilet and take a pic of him for fun.

Tony sure knows how to BBQ chicken. I would call him the BBQ chicken king .. actually I just did ..

ok .. as of now .. he is the BBQ chicken king

Root Canal Pt.1

So I went to the dentist last tuesday.

They decided it would be good to put me on laughing gas (to help calm me down) since I was going to get a root canal. It was pretty cool. They had me snorting that shit for a while and then I suddenly felt heavy and light at the same time. It was pretty bizarre. When he gave me my first needle for the freezing he didn't even tell me that he was going to do it and was massaging my gums and asking me if I felt anything uncomfortable. Before I knew it he already gave me the first needle. I did feel a little pinch of the second needle, but it was nothing. I felt like saying .. ah hell .. give me some more of that gas. I enjoyed it lots and lots. That is until the he put this rubber thing around my mouth to keep from pieces of teeth flying all over into the sides of my . When they had that on .. I suddenly started to feel really hot.. and nauseous .. and memories of the dentist that I had when I was a kid started to come flying right back.. It freaked me out. I put up my hand and the doctor as fast as he could whipped the gas mask and rubber cover thing off and got me a glass of water. I needed to go to the bathroom because I didn't know whether I was going to shit or puke. I got up and started to walk down the hallway all dizzy and shit and stumbled my way to the bathroom. Whipped my pants off and sat down on the cool toilet, while I was "backwards hugging" the toilet tank. Aahhh .. that feels better .. ahh.. mmm .. cold porcelain. You never let me down. During this time the dentist rapped on the door a couple of times to makes sure I am ok. I think the first time he checked me, I probably responded more like a drunk Ukrainian on a drinking binge .. but I was better the second time.

I came out of the bathroom and I was ready to continue on. The dentist nearly refused because he didn't want me to pass out again .. and possibly have to call the paramedics on me. I was telling him .. "NO .. I am positive .. the worst it over now!! I just had some freaky flashbacks about my old dentist when I was a kid. There will be no problems whatsoever." .. So he was .. ok .. only if you are sure..

I get in the chair, take some deep breaths. and he continued on with "Root Canal - Pt.1". He drilled it all out and then let the tooth drain. Put some medication in there and then put a temporary filling on it. It was pretty decent. Actually the after math was less of a pain in the ass then when I had a tooth pulled out.. and I wish I would have saved my last one that way.. but then again. At that time .. I didn't have any dental benefits and I was just going with the cheapest route at the time.

All in all .. it was a good experience. (except for the almost fainting part) And it makes me feel more comfortable about dentists now. I had no pain at all throughout the procedure. Sweet.

There isn't a candy machine out there that can outwit the smarts of Harland.

good thing

It was a good thing that we did come home early.. Leanne slept until 2pm today.

Crazy shit.

It was really friggin hot out today .. so we thought of taking Harley to a movie for the first time (this is not including the times leanne took him to the Mother and baby movie days at the theatre when he was only a couple of months old. Those don't count.) We took him to see Madagascar, for the 4 o'clock afternoon show. He really enjoyed it!! It was really cute. He sat there with his popcorn munching away. Yup .. just like daddy .. only 1 out of every 20 kernels or so actually staying in his mouth. But the thing was that it wayyy cooler in the theatre. And he could have been throughing his diapers across the theatre for all I cared. It was cool .. and that is all that mattered. For a 2 year old .. he was very well behaved. There were 6 and 7 year old kids in the theatre that was not as good as him. I am proud of my boy.

Someday in my dreamy future I will own central air. But until that time .. I will survive without it. Just as long as it doesn't get as hot as texas or something stupid like that.

BATB X

Beer at the Beach X, happened on this weekend. I would put up some pics but I don't have any .. .. But I will post some as soon as I get my camera pics developed. .. but I will likely get some sent to me before that time comes. I am not sure how mine will turn out because I didn't take many because the battery's in my camera were dying and I didnt have a new battery. I tried to get one while I was at the lake .. but that failed miserably.

It was a good time as it was normally. I enjoyed myself alot. The Reid's have always been the best at being so frendly and hospitable. Never a bad time. Sure there may have been some "bumpy moments" in past years .. but all in all it was always a good time.. And this last one was one of my favorites.

Harley just loved it out there and he couldn't get enough. Always wanted to be in the water. I took some pics of Harley and Scott playing in the water.. keep an eye for them in the future. I will post if they turned out.

We decided to leave a little earlier because both Harley and Leanne took in quite a bit of sun, and with my wife already having a bun in the oven again.. I didn't want her to overcook it. I was torn. I didn't really want to leave early .. but I had to get Harley straightened out the next day otherwise he would be a hellion.

I hope the naked picture turns out. That will be the first one I will personally post if it does.

WatermelHHHEHEEEEEYYYYYAAAAHHHH!!!

We had a hot dog day at work and Chris chopped the watermelon in his traditional way. It was good times. Ron took the picture.

The date on the picture is wrong thoug.. it is supposed to say the 29th. I noticed this on other pics that ron took a while back and mentioned it to him. I have come to the conclusion that doesn't know how to change the time on his camera .. or his simply just doesn't give a rat's ass.

That is one thing that alway kind of bothered me. And I used to come across it alot in my developing photo days at astral. People having the wrong date set on the camera. I mean .. man .. the date bugs me as it is .. but hell if you are going to use it .. then have it set right. Or turn the bloody thing off!! !.. AAARRRRGGHH .. I will never own a camera with a date stamp. And if I do .. it will be off.
